It seems random

I know that when I first joined Medium in September of this year, I was always happy to read articles about Medium journeys from people who had been writing here longer, so maybe at least some of you will find this useful. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like anything I have done so far makes any real sense. I keep hoping to figure out the best things to do and the best topics to write about, but there is no rhyme or reason to my earnings (or lack thereof), so . . . I’m still feeling a bit clueless.

I just write what I feel like writing when I sit down at my desk.

I’m going to break down each month (don’t worry, it’s only four, so the article won’t be 100 years long) into three categories: best earner, most views, and most fans (how many individual readers clapped for the article).

So, I joined on the 15th of September, and I had no idea what I was doing, of course. During the month of September, I only published three articles, and I wasn’t eligible for the Medium Partner Program earnings, so the data from that month is a bit sparse. Still, here are my results.

Best-earning article: There was a tie, between Suicide. and Water — the Life-Giving Liquid. They each earned me a whopping 13 cents over the time they have been published.

Most views: Suicide.

Most fans: also Suicide.

Total earnings I was paid out at the end of the month: $0.00 since I wasn’t eligible for the Program yet.

For the first three weeks of October, I had not yet been accepted into the Partner Program, but I was still determined to put out more content…
